Ken Perlman is known wherever banjos are played as a master of the melodic clawhammer style, and for his skillful adaptations of Celtic & Down-East fiddle tunes to banjo. He has been a Banjo Newsletter columnist for over 25 years, and has written several well-known books on clawhammer instruction. He is an expert on old-time fiddle tunes and related lore from the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island.
