Bill built me a maple style 3 (or 5) wreath neck for my 1930 TB-3, and I have to say that it is one of the most beautiful looking and most comfortably playing necks I have ever been able to play on. The inlays are flawless, the finish is perfect, and the finger board is some of the best Brazilian rosewood I have ever seen. I really like this neck!
Thanks Bill! |

These new kyser picks are the best new finger picks I have ever used, they are very close in tone and feel to my set of old nationals. I have been using a prototype set of these for a few weeks and they are great! |

Setup

When I got it it was set up for a very mellow sound, I cranked the head up a lot, put on a new bridge and I then changed the head from the snuffy smith to a remo, which brought it out! |

Sound
|
This banjo is an arch-top, but it sounds much mellower than any flat-head I've ever played. I love this banjo, it's the best banjo I have ever played, it can be mellow for soft songs and loud and clear for scruggs style. Jens Kruger played it and said "Wow what a great banjo." |

After I got it the only things I did to it was to raise the tail-piece a bit and put on a thicker compensated bridge. |

This banjo is extremely pretty, it has flying eagle inlays on an old replica neck, (possibly an origional gibson neck, but probably not). This is a maple banjo, it was re-finished to a sunbust, but the wood still looks very old. It has very worn gold plated parts. It is fantastic. |

This banjo is totally solid, the only reason why it didn't get a 10 is because you could break a string on stage. |

The origional 40-hole arch top tone ring with a nechville bridge and a bear-claw tailpiece create a sound that is unique to this banjo. |

If you ever come across one of these, even if it's very expensive, buy it, it will probably be one of the best banjos you ever own. If this banjo were ever stolen I would be very upset, and I would hunt down whoever took it and I would take it back. I have played an all origional 1933 RB-3, and that RB-3 was nothing compared to my arch-top, I will never ever sell this banjo, this will be with me when I die, which I hope is a long time from now. |
